Event Information

Legendary rock band AC/DC will perform at the MCG on Wednesday November 12 and Sunday November 16 as a part of their highly anticipated POWER UP Australian tour this November and December.

The POWER UP tour began in Europe in 2024 and saw a staggering 2 million tickets sold across 24 shows. It then took over North America with 10 sold-out shows – and will return to Europe for an extra 15 shows, before AC/DC make their long-awaited return to Australian shores.

AC/DC will be accompanied by special guests, Australian rock band Amyl and the Sniffers.

With Angus Young on lead guitar, vocalist Brian Johnson, rhythm guitarist Stevie Young, drummer Matt Laug and bass player Chris Chaney – don’t miss AC/DC as they bring their world-conquering POWER UP tour home!

To ensure you are inside the Ground in time for the start of the event, arrive early and leave plenty of time for the entry process.

Download your ticket prior to your arrival. To gain entry into the match, scan your physical or digital membership card at the turnstiles.

There are many ways to get to the 'G! Plan your journey ahead of time to ensure you're inside the Ground for the start of the event.

  • Brunton Avenue will be closed between 4:30am–11:59pm.
  • Jolimont Street & Terrace will be closed between 3:00pm–11:59pm.
  • Vale Street will be closed between 3:00pm–11:59pm.
  • Wellington Parade will be closed between 10:50pm–11:30pm.
  • Patrons are advised to use Clarendon St (near the Pullman Hotel), East Melbourne, for their taxi, ride share or private vehicle drop off and pick up.
  • Patrons with accessibility needs can arrange to be dropped off by taxi (or a private vehicle with an Australian Disability Parking permit) at the bus turning circle (corner of Jolimont St and Jolimont Tce).

    Please note: Vehicles without an Australian Disability Parking (ADP) permit, including pre-booked Ubers, will not be permitted to enter the bus turning circle.

Outside the MCG

AC/DC merchandise will be sold from three marquees outside the MCG each show day:

  • City End outlet from 2pm: located off Daniher's Way from William Barak Bridge
  • Richmond End outlet from 2pm: located outside Gate 5
  • Jolimont End outlet from 12pm: located outside Gate 3

Inside the MCG

AC/DC merchandise will be sold from the gate opening time until the end of the show at the following three locations:

  • MCG Shop: located inside Gate 3, Level 1, behind M50
  • Level 4 in the Olympic Stand, section Q49
  • Inside Gate 2

All merchandise sales will need to be made via card, as no cash is accepted.

All food, beverage, merchandise and ticketing outlets are cashless. All transactions will need to be made on your debit or credit card.

The MCG is a smoke, e-cigarette and vape free venue. Patrons found smoking or vaping inside the Ground will face immediate eviction and could face further disciplinary action by the Club.

The MCG Multi-Faith Prayer Room is open to all patrons. It is located on Level B1 of the Shane Warne Stand (approximately behind Section M13).

Please note, flashing lights and pyrotechnics will be used throughout this event at the MCG.

Accessibility

The Melbourne Cricket Club is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive experience for everyone when they visit the MCG.

The G-Train Mobility Shuttle Service operates during public events at the MCG, including AC/DC.

The shuttle service is free and accessible to patrons with mobility challenges. The G-Train also features vehicles with wheelchair-friendly access.

Pre-booking is not required; simply wait at a designated pick up point for the next available buggy. The service has pick up points from the following locations:

  • Richmond Station
  • Jolimont Station
  • Accessible Parking Area.

The G-Train will operate from 4pm until 10:30pm. The service will be paused prior to the end of the show and will not resume until the crowds on the precinct have cleared. This is expected to be no earlier than 11:30pm. When safe, the service will resume until 12:30am.

A Sensory Friendly Space is located within the Australian Sports Museum on Level 1 of the Olympic Stand (behind M51, inside Gate 3). This is a space for patrons of all ages who have sensory sensitivities, processing differences, or other hidden disabilities.

There are two rooms within the space offering patrons the ability to choose between quietly watching the event in a tiered theatre or using personal sensory strategies and fidgets to relax in a multi-purpose room.

Visual stories are step-by-step guides with photos used to prepare a person for, and increase the predictability of, a new environment or situation.

Member Hospitality

The Club is pleased to offer members two unique function options in the Long Room and Jim Stynes Grill ahead of the AC/DC POWER UP Tour concert on Wednesday November 12.

The Jim Stynes Grill function offer will include an a la carte menu with a two-hour beverage package. Members who purchase the Long Room experience will enjoy a sit-down buffet with a two-hour beverage package.
